Ok…maybe not an era, but certainly a significant milestone in a long unexpected journey (forgive the Hobbit reference). Finished my last radiation treatment this morning, which marks the last of my “first line of defense” treatments. Barring a recurrence, I am officially in maintenance mode until my reconstruction surgery later this year. Maintenance mode consists of Herceptin infusions every 3 weeks, Zometa infusions every 12 weeks, and daily Tamoxifen (oral medication), and scans every 4 months or so. My next one is in late March. Feeling so relieved and happy to have gotten this far.
From my Caring Bridge supporters:
WAHOO! That is awesome news! So very happy for you 🙂

Can you see me doing my happy dance? So happy for you. My prayers will continue that those scans continue to be clear. JJ

Hi Cindy –
Glad to hear about your successful project completion…so to speak. If you were here at work I’m sure we would all give you an ‘E’ on your PA for this for exceeds expectations! You Rock!
We sure do miss you.

I hold my breath every time I get one of your updates and I’m so relieved when I get this wonderful news. Has anyone been on more of a Merry-Go-Round than you have? Don’t think so. I continue to keep you and your family in my prayers. I think you have been an inspiration to so many, not the least of which has been me. Keep up the good work. I hope we can all get together at Will and Lisa’s this summer for a BBQ. It would be so nice to see you all. Its been much too long.
