Caring Bridge – Radiation – Day 1

I officially started radiation treatments today. Everything went well except that they tried to reschedule me for tomorrow. I told them no and came anyway and they were able to get me in just fine. Longer day today because they cover skin care, I saw the doctor, and they take X-rays to make sure I am positioned properly. The radiation itself was less than 10 minutes. So far so good. Expecting skin to be sore and fatigue as the main side effects. Crossing my fingers that will be the extent of the problems.

From my Caring Bridge supporters:

Happy Monday Cindy! Hope you had a restful weekend. Just wanted to let you know I was thinking of you.

It goes by quick! The sweet nurses at UCSF where I just had my clinical rotation said to consider it a “spa” treatment…
See you Wednesday.

Hi Cindy – I’ve been thinking of you a lot since your last posting. I hope you aren’t too sore tomorrow. Take care.

My fingers are crossed too. Thanks for the update!

Cyndy,

I admire you so much for the grace you have shown in facing cancer. You are brave, honest, funny, informative, bitchy (in a good way…), and stand as a shining example of the way to make it through a very scary circumstance. I send much love your way. Marsha.

I bet that reschedule attempt was not very well received! See you tomorrow!
